LaVera V. Brehm
LaVera V. (Holtz) Brehm, 91, Wisconsin Rapids, a former Rudolph resident and former owner of Badger State Feed
in Rudolph, as well as the mother of a Stevens Point woman, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Arborwood Lodge of complications
of a stroke.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Philip Catholic Church in Rudolph, with the Revs. Timothy Welles
and Chester Osowski officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Rudolph.
Visitation will be at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and at the church from
9:30 a.m. Thursday until the services.
Memorials in her name to St. Philip Church would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
Mrs. Brehm was born March 30, 1918, in Medford, a daughter of the late Edwin and Ottilia (Hurtienne) Holtz. She
attended school until the eighth grade in the Medford area.
She was married to Elmer F. Brehm on Nov. 16, 1938, in Stetsonville. He died in 1984.
They owned and operated Badger State Feed in Rudolph for many years, until selling it to their son, Jim.
She and her husband bowled on the same team for more than 40 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy (Jim) Altmann, Blenker, Lorna (Ernie) Wasieleski, Stevens Point, and Kay
(Dale) Pagels, Rudolph; one son, Jim (Barb), Rudolph; one sister, Fern Steele, Neenah; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren;
and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Berdell and Lila Mae in infancy. |
