| Rita M. Barta Rita M. Barta, 72, Wausau, mother of a Stevens Point woman, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Wausau, with the Rev. Robert Thorn presiding. Visitation will be at the church from noon Saturday until the Mass. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or the Marathon County Humane Society in lieu of flowers. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home in Wausau was in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.petersonkraemer.com. Mrs. Barta was born July 11, 1937, in Antigo, a daughter of the late Louis and Genevieve Wesley. She graduated from Antigo High School and then completed nursing training at Mercy School of Nursing in Oshkosh in 1958. She continued her nursing career until her retirement in 2000 from North Central Health Care Center in Wausau. She was married to Milton Barta of Neva in 1959. Survivors include her husband, Wausau; two daughters, Terese Barta, Stevens Point, and Jane (Michael) Vesel, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Jeffrey (Marlene), Montclair, Va., and Brian (Rhonda), Wausau; three sisters, Julie (Kermit) Schultz and Vicki (Eugene) Cahak, both of Manitowoc, and Rosemary (Michael) Barnes, Deerbrook; and six grandchildren. |
