Verna R. Petersen, 86, Clear Lake, formerly of Waupaca and Plainfield, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at the Amery Regional Medical Center in Amery.
Memorial services will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Clear Lake. Burial will be in Ostrander Cemetery in Mukwa in the spring.
Visitation will be at the church from 4 p.m. Saturday until the services.
Scheuermann-Hammer Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Clear Lake handled the arrangements.
The former Verna Fletcher was married to Alfred L. Petersen on Oct. 31, 1958, in Rhinelander. He died Jan. 27, 2005.
They farmed in the town of Almond.
Mrs. Petersen worked at a tree nursery in Plainfield and for many years as a housekeeper at the Holiday Inn in Stevens Point.
Survivors include two daughters, Beth (Wesley) Nelson and Sue (Dennis) Maloney, both of Clear Lake; one sister, Audrey (Don) Thompson, Gulf Breeze, Fla.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
