Fern G. Meyers

Fern G. Meyers, 84, a former longtime Plainfield resident and the mother of four area residents, died Friday, Feb. 19, 2010.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Plainfield United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Plainfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home in Plainfield from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the services.

Mrs. Meyers was born May 29, 1925, in Merrillan, a daughter of the late Harold and Stella (Hovland) Olson. She spent her childhood in Merrillan on a farm.

She was married to Leo Edward Meyers on Sept. 14, 1946. He died on Oct. 8, 1983.

She resided in Plainfield for about 32 years. Prior to that she lived in Franklin.

Survivors include six daughters, Nancy (Lee) Szcyubialka and Joanne Szymanski, both of Wisconsin Rapids, Karen (friend Dave) Meyers, Kellner, Judy Meyers, Milwaukee, and Sally (friend Rick Roehl) Meyers and Penny (Joel) Christensen, both of Plainfield; two sons, William (Veronica), Coloma, and Charles (Mary Lou), Plainfield; two sisters, Gloria Knoll and Rojean McNulty, both of Black River Falls; two brothers, John Olson, South Carolina, and Gaylord Olson, North Dakota; 24 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.
