Eugene R. Liebe

Eugene R. Liebe, 74, Iola, a Rosholt native, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at his residence.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt, with the Rev. Marcin Mankowski, OP, and the Rev. James Genovesi, FHPA, officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be at Voie Funeral Home in Iola from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, until the Mass. A rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to Operation Bootstrap in Stevens Point or to the Blessed Sacrament Hermitage in the town of Sharon.

Mr. Liebe was born May 3, 1935, in Rosholt, a son of the late Jerome Liebe and Ihla Olson.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He was married to Ann Millea. They later divorced.

He then was married to Mary Vomberg. They later divorced.

He worked as an assembly line worker at Continental Can in Milwaukee.

Survivors include two daughters, Sheanna (Avner) Hizmi, Brookfield, and Michelle (Thomas) Montoya, Queen Creek, Ariz.; two sons, Greg, Franklin, and Eric (Esther), Buckeye, Ariz.; four sisters, Clarice (Randy) Kernen, Iola, Barb Liebe, Scandinavia, Beatrice Malinowski, Bloomer, and Mary Ann Jorgensen, Waupaca; two brothers, Dennis, Oak Park, Calif., and Steve (Terrie Tews), Weyauwega; and 12 grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Liebe.
