| Roland G. Kirsch Roland G. Kirsch, 83, Stratford, father of a Stevens Point man, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at Marshfield Care Center in Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stratford, with the Rev. Thomas Rudolph officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in the town of Eau Pleine in Marathon County. Visitation will be at Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home in Stratford from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the Mass. A parish rosary service will be prayed at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.rembsfh.com. Mr. Kirsch was born Dec. 9, 1926, in Stratford, a son of the late Peter and Katherine (Kaiser) Kirsch. He attended St. Joseph Parochial School in Stratford and graduated from Stratford High School. He was married to Rita M. Brock on Sept. 9, 1950, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield. He farmed in the town of Cleveland in Marathon County and while farming he was also employed at Equity Livestock in Stratford. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, The Holy Name Society, St. Joseph's Adult Choir and the Catholic Order of Foresters, of which he served as the youth director. He was also a supervisor for the town of Cleveland. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Diane (Bill) Krcma, Washburn, Mary (Patty Birschbach) Kirsch, Fond du Lac, Annette (Don) Schultz, Marshfield, and Renee (fiancé John Manders) Kirsch, Appleton; four sons, Duane (Renee), Stevens Point, Larry (Carol) Kirsch and Dennis (Jody), both of Stratford, and Tom (Tammy), Edgar; two brothers, Leander (Joan), Monroe, and Jerome (Mary Lou), Marshfield; three sisters, Lucille Lubner, De Pere, Marion (Sylvester) VandeLoo, Marshfield, and Helen Hoff, Spencer; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. |
