Myrtle E. Filtz

Myrtle E. Filtz, 88, Edgar, mother of a Stevens Point woman, died Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at Northside Elder Estates in Stratford while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. John Catholic Church in Edgar, with the Rev. Robert Streveler officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until the services.

Mrs. Filtz was born June 18, 1921, in Edgar, a daughter of the late Richard and Emma (Borman) Brunke.

In her working career, she had farmed, done babysitting for several years, worked at Kleinstick Appliance and Standard Container of Edgar, cooked at St. John School, was a cook at the former Skylight Supper Club in Athens and was a custodian for Edgar High School, where she was also in charge of maintenance of sports uniforms.

Survivors include four daughters, Florence (Jim) Kaiser, Sheboygan Falls, Delores Hall, Edgar, Mary (Jeff) Wolfe, Mosinee, and Eileen (Duane) Kruzitski, Stevens Point; one son, David (Helen) Filtz (Filtzkowski), Edgar; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Herbert, Melvin, Earl, Roy and Harry Brunke.
