| Ramona E. Varney Ramona E. Varney, 88, Stevens Point, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at St. Clare's Hospital in Weston. A Funeral Mass will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at the St. Joseph Convent Chapel in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Tom Lindner presiding and the Rev. Jim Logan, nephew of Mrs. Varney, preaching. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery in Stevens Point. Visitation will be at the chapel from 4 p.m. Monday until the Mass. Memorials in her name can be given to the Newman Campus Ministry Endowment Trust at 2108 Fourth Ave., Stevens Point, or The Interfaith at the Lincoln Center. Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home of Stevens Point assisted the family with arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.pisarskifuneralhome.com. Mrs. Varney was born March 1, 1922, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the late Bernard and Anna (Strosin) Zakrzewski. She attended local schools. She was married to Donald Varney on Nov. 16, 1957, in St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point. He died on Feb. 21, 1987. She was a member of Newman University Parish. Survivors include one brother, Gilbert (Mary Ann) Zakrzewski, Milwaukee; two stepdaughters, Patricia McNaul, Pennsylvania, and Janet (James) Boldig, Michigan; stepgrandchildren; and great-stepgrandchildren. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters and one stepson, David. |
