Peter J. Rombalski

Peter J. Rombalski, 63, 1591 County Trunks C and Y, Rosholt, a lifelong resident of the Shantytown area and former Rosholt School Board member, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at his home after a 17-month battle with glioblastoma multiforme, a form of brain cancer. He was under the care of his family and Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Bevent, with the Rev. Joseph Diermeier officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and again from 9 a.m. Monday until the Mass. A memorial rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Memorials can be directed toward his grandchildren's college educations.

Mr. Rombalski was born March 8, 1947, in Bevent, a son of the late Frank and Louise (Nigbur) Rombalski.

He was married to Sue (Suzanne) Filtz on July 11, 1970.

He served six years in the National Guard and worked 36 years in construction prior to retiring.

He previously served two terms on the Rosholt School Board and four years on the Bevent Town Board. He currently was in his 23rd year on the Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative (CWEC) Board and was also on the Wisconsin Electric Cooperative Association (WECA) State Board. He had also been on many committees and participated in the church choir at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent, of which he was a member his entire life.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Jason (Jaime), Liberty, Mo.; one daughter, Melissa (John) Barden, Rosholt; one brother, Gene, Bevent; seven sisters, Louise Rzentkowski, Mequon, Barbara (Frank) Kostuch, Brown Deer, Christine (Gerald) Essex, St. Francis, Claire Rombalski-Talmadge, Eureka, Calif., Judith (John) Cockbrun Nawrocki, Glen Rose, Texas, Marilyn Quinell, Galloway, and Norma Jean Rombalski, Stevens Point; and five grandchildren.
