Lorraine M. Placzek, 86, 5625 Sandpiper Drive, Stevens Point, died unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at her home.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover, with the Rev. James Trempe officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Adalbert Cemetery in Milwaukee.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the service.
A memorial will be established in her name at a later date.

Mrs. Placzek was born Dec. 8, 1923, in Milwaukee, a daughter of the late Harry and Josephine (Bartkowiak) Grohall. She grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Bayview High School.
She was married to Raymond Placzek on Aug. 6, 1949, at St. Stanislaus Church in Milwaukee. He died in 1997.
She worked for Frankfurth Hardware Store and Rexnord Manufacturing in Milwaukee, retiring in 1984.
She moved to Stevens Point in 2004 to be near family.
Survivors include one son, Roger (Susan), Plover; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
