Jerry A. Lothe

Jerry A. Lothe, 66, Stevens Point, died unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, from complications after a fall.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at Burke Lutheran Church in Madison, with the Rev. Russ Leeper officiating.

Visitation will be held at Cress Funeral Home in Sun Prairie from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the services.

A celebration of life will be held in the Iverson Park All Purpose Building by the sled hill in Stevens Point on Sunday, Aug. 22, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Memorials can be given to the Lothe family charitable fund.

Mr. Lothe was born Feb. 13, 1944, in Madison, a son of the late Julian and Mary (Aspel) Lothe.

He spent his high school years working for Conrad's Supermarket in Sun Prairie. He opened and managed a local hardware store from 1963 until 1967.

Mr. Lothe was married to Donna Hoepker on Nov. 9, 1963.

He and his family moved to Stevens Point in 1967 where he was employed by the Wisconsin Retail Hardware Association for 38 years. He retired in 2005.

Following his retirement, he worked for a period of time for the National Hardware Association.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Tammy (David) Molski, Stevens Point; two sons, Michael (Denise), Stevens Point, and Jeffrey (Lynda), Tucson, Ariz.; three brothers, Richard (Dottie), Texas, and Jon (Linda) and Jim (Sue), both of Sun Prairie; one sister, Nancy Rockwell, Viroqua; and seven grandchildren.
