Marilyn R. Loberg

Marilyn R. Loberg, 81, Oshkosh, a Nelsonville native, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at Lakeshore Manor in Oshkosh.

A funeral service and celebration of eternal life will be held Friday, Sept. 3, at 6 p.m. at First English Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, with the Rev. Martin Ruge officiating. Burial will be in the Nelsonville Lutheran Cemetery, Nelsonville, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4.

Visitation will be at the church from 4 p.m. Friday until the time of the services.

Donations can be made to the Marilyn Loberg Scholarship Fund at Fox Valley Technical College and to the Arthritis Foundation.

Mrs. Loberg was born Feb. 24, 1929, in Nelsonville, a daughter of the late Daniel and Marilla (Loberg) Bobbe. She graduated from Amherst High School and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, receiving a bachelor of science degree in home economics.

She was married to Merlin Loberg on June 2, 1951, at Nelsonville Lutheran Church in Nelsonville.

She taught home economics for a year at Weyauwega High School, three years at Winneconne High School and was the home economics coordinator at Fox Valley Technical College for 35 years.

She was a member of First English Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Oshkosh; one daughter, Susan (Pat) Loberg-Aulwes, Greenville; two sons, Bruce (Cindy), Neenah, and David (Kathy), Berthoud, Colo.; one brother, Donald (Marjorie) Bobbe, Milwaukee; one sister, Kathryn Wondzell, Wisconsin Rapids; and seven grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Cole Loberg.
