| Marion L. Komurka Marion L. Komurka, 84, a former Stevens Point resident, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. George Thayilkuzhithottu officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery in Muscoda at a later date. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the services. Memorials may be designated to the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. Shuda Funeral Chapel of Stevens Point assisted the family with arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.shudafuneral.com. Mr. Komurka was born Feb. 22, 1926, in Muscoda, a son of the late Rudolph and Katherine (Linscheid) Komurka. He served in the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific aboard the hospital ship USS Bountiful. He was married to Betty Delp on June 18, 1949, at St. John Catholic Church in Muscoda. She died Nov. 25, 2001. He worked for Sears Roebuck & Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1981. He then worked for Fahrner Asphalt in Plover for 19 years. Survivors include two daughters, Jan (Charlie) Woodward, Stevens Point and Arcadia, Fla., and Jill (Neale) Ward, Everett, Wash.; and one granddaughter. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. |
