| Emil B. Guzman Emil B. Guzman, 87, Stevens Point, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point. There will be no funeral services. A private family burial will take place at a later date in Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point. Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home of Stevens Point assisted the family with arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.pisarskifuneralhome.com. Mr. Guzman was born Feb. 3, 1923, in Stevens Point, a son of the late Barney and Francis (Kitowski) Guzman. He attended local grade schools and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1941. He entered the U.S. Navy on Jan. 20, 1943, in Stevens Point. He served as a machinist mate 2nd class during World War II. He was honorably discharged on April 13, 1946, at Great Lakes, Ill. He received the American Area Ribbon, the Asiatic/Pacific Area Ribbon, and the World War II Victory Ribbon. Upon returning home, he worked for Consolidated Papers as a machinist for more than 40 years. He was married to Mildred Phillips on Sept. 28, 1946, in Stevens Point. After their marriage the couple settled in Stevens Point. He was a member of the Berens-Scribner American Legion Post 6 of Stevens Point. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Donna (Greg) Mykisen, Bancroft, and Judy (Joe) Guzman, Stevens Point; one brother, Richard (Zelda), Wisconsin Rapids; one sister, Martha (Harold) Bandow, Stevens Point; and one grandson. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Jean Guzman; and one sister, Marie (George) Schmitz. |
