Donald W. 'Pud' Beaver

Donald W. "Pud" Beaver, 82, Westfield, father of a Junction City woman, died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010, at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. Interment will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Loyal.

Visitation will be at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home in Westfield from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and Friday at the church from 10 a.m. Friday until the Mass. A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Beaver was born May 19, 1928, in Loyal, a son of the late William and Clara (Attelyn-Schwieso) Beaver.

He was married to Beverley Jean Gregory in June 1949. She preceded him in death.

They began their first six years of married life as farmers in rural Loyal until the barn burned down. For the remainder of his working life he was a woodsman and logger.

He was a steel guitar player in his family band, the Kountry Kings.

Survivors include six sons, Thomas (Conde), Portage, Dennis (Peggy), Arizona, Dean (Amy), Westfield, Lawrie (Jean), Marshfield, Gary (Heidi), Westfield, Douglas (Teresa), Coloma; three daughters, Therese Beaver, Westfield, Annette (Bruce) Daczyk, Junction City, and Bonnie (William) Finn, Dale; one sister, Jeanette (Don) Cole, Marshfield; and 77 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Ronald; three sisters, Veronica, Evelyn and Lucille; one brother, Ted Schwieso; two grandsons; and one granddaughter.
