Edmund H. Adamczak

Edmund H. Adamczak, 84, a Portage County native and the brother of a Plover man and an Amherst woman, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at the Unity Residence in Green Bay.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 13, at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Green Bay, with the Rev. John Becker officiating. Entombment will be in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lyndahl Funeral Home in Green Bay and at the church from 10 a.m. Friday until the Mass. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

A memorial fund will be established in his name.

Mr. Adamczak was born June 15, 1926, in Portage County, a son of the late Peter and Selma (Eickendorf) Adamczak.

He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean era.

He was married to Bernadine Glodowski on May 29, 1952, in Polonia. She died on Oct. 30, 2006.

He worked as a route salesman for Fisher's Dairy, Fairmont Foods, Marigold Foods and Kemp's Dairy. In his retirement, he owned and operated his own laundry service, Nu-Way, and worked at Kohl's department store.

Survivors include two sons, Brian (Lynn) and Kevin (Denise), both of Green Bay; four daughters, Darlene (Richard) Lange, Waunakee, Mary (Tom) Frederick, Crivitz, Gale (Fran) Bloemers, Estero, Fla., and Eagle River, and Lynn (Joel) Gmack, Ledgeview; three brothers, Alois (Eleanore), Wauwatosa, Peter (Don), Plover, and Michael (Arlene), Rome, Ga.; two sisters, Janet Woyak, Plainfield, and Carol (Michael) Hinrichs, Amherst; 14 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Earl; and one sister, Eileen.
