| Charlene A. Olson Charlene A. Olson, 75, Stevens Point, a longtime Mauston resident and mother of a Stevens Point woman, died Sunday, May 31, 2009, at the Portage County Health Care Center. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Mauston. Another memorial service will be held in Cokato, Minn., in late June or July. Donations in her name may be made to the Hatch Memorial Library in Mauston, or a local food pantry. The Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home assisted the family with local arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.pisarskifuneralhome.com. Mrs. Olson was born Oct. 18, 1933, in Cokato, Minn., a daughter of the late Carl and Alvina (Peterson) Lind. She graduated from Cokato High School. She received a bachelor's degree from Gustavus Adolphus College. She began her teaching career in Wisconsin and taught in Barron, Clintonville and Mauston high schools. She was married to Thomas Olson on June 4, 1959. He died in 1996. She retired from teaching in 1995. Survivors include two sons, Scott, Mauston, and Peter (Linda), Lunenburg, Mass.; two daughters, Marit (Tom) Guse, Stevens Point, and Martha (Bob) Lebeaux, Lincoln, R.I.; and seven grandchildren, including Emily and Eric Guse. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Howard Lind. |
