Amelia M. 'Emma' Grover

Amelia M. "Emma" (Flaig) Grover, 94, Stevens Point, died Friday, May 29, 2009, at the Stevens Point Care Center, where she had lived for 3-1/2 years.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen Catholic Church, with the Rev. John Potaczek officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Marion.

Visitation will at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the services.

Memorials in her name will be established at a later date in lieu of flowers.

Mrs. Grover was born Oct. 12, 1914, in the town of Linwood, a daughter of the late Joseph and Emma (Langer) Flaig. She was raised in Linwood.

She was married to Delbert H. Grover on Nov. 17, 1936, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Mill Creek. He died on June 17, 1993.

The couple lived in Nekoosa until 1942 when they moved to Milwaukee. When he retired in 1972 they moved to Caroline. She lived there until 1995 when she moved to Stevens Point to be closer to her family.

She was a homemaker all her life.

She was active in the Tigerton Senior Citizens Center and the Caroline Homemakers Club.

Survivors include three daughters, Janice (Dale) Bohlman, Waukesha, Lorraine (Thomas) Wollersheim, Mequon, and Martina (Frederick) LaRosa, Plover; three sisters, Helen Niemczyk and Catherine Czapinski, both of Stevens Point, and Evelyn (John) Isherwood, Delavan; two brothers, Walter (Lillian) Flaig, Rudolph, and Raymond (Mona) Flaig, Stevens Point; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by an infant son, two brothers, one sister and two infant grandchildren.
