| Mary Lou Diedrich Mary Lou Diedrich, 74, Sycamore, Ill., mother of a Plover man, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at her residence. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb, Ill., with the Rev. Kenneth Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Winnebago, Ill., at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will be held at Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home in DeKalb, Ill., from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and at the church from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the Mass. A wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the DeKalb County Hospice in her name in lieu of flowers. Condolences may be offered online at www.ronanmoorefinch.com. Mrs. Diedrich was born June 2, 1934, in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late Oliver B. and Marion F. (Rericha) Moberg. She graduated from Waukegan (Ill.) Township High School in 1952. She graduated from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Evanston, Ill. She was married to Thomas Diedrich on Oct. 27, 1956, in St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb, Ill. In her earlier years she worked for the DeKalb Clinic as a registered nurse and became a homemaker when her children were born. She lived in San Francisco, Calif., from 1956 to 1962; in Rockford, Ill., from 1962 to 1983; in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 1984 to 1989; and in Arlington, Va., from 1989 to 1996; before settling in Sycamore in 1996. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb and was a part of the sewing group known as the Buzzin Dozen. Survivors include her husband, Sycamore, Ill.; one son, Joseph (Jean) Diedrich, Plover; one brother, Phillip B. (Kathy) Moberg, Norfolk, Va.; and three grandchildren, Jameson, Jeanna and Joseph Diedrich. She was also preceded in death by three daughters, Katherine Ann, Mary Ann and Mary Grace; and two sons, Francis Thomas and John Patrick. |
