Norbert A. Wollock Sr.

Norbert A. Wollock Sr., 84, 640 Walker St., Stevens Point, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at the Portage County Health Care Center.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Casimir Catholic Church in the town of Hull, with the Rev. Wesley Janowski officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and at the church from 9 a.m. Friday until the Mass. A general rosary will be prayed at 7:15 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

A memorial in his name will be established at a later date.

Mr. Wollock was born June 7, 1925, in the town of Dewey, a son of the late Michael and Frances (Krayecki) Wollock.

He entered the U.S. Army on July 20, 1944, at Fort Sheridan, Ill. He served as a private first class with Company K, 345th Infantry, 87th Division. He received the Bronze Campaign Star, European/African/Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon, Good Conduct Ribbon, Combat Infantry Badge and the Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged on Sept. 20, 1945, at Fort Custer, Mich.

He was married to Genevieve B. Drewa on Feb. 23, 1946, at St. Peter Catholic Church. She died March 18, 1996.

He was employed for Soo Line Railroad until his retirement.

He was a member of the Moose Family Center 1572.

Survivors include two sons, Myron (Carol) Wollock and Ken (Pam) Wallock, both of Stevens Point; one brother, Lucas (Dorothy) Wolloch, Junction City; four grandchildren, Wade Wollock, Kim (Dennis) Zvara, Alex (Nicole Wojcik) Wallock and Shannon Wallock; and one great-grandson.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Norbert Wallock Jr.; one infant daughter, Kathleen; one daughter, Darlene Adamski; five brothers, Alois, Peter, Conrad, Barney and Lawrence; three sisters, Lucille, Clara and Grace; and one grandson.
