Genevieve E. Wengelski

Genevieve E. Wengelski, 88, 2070 County Highway DB, Mosinee, a town of Dewey native and the mother of a Stevens Point woman, died Monday, June 29, 2009, at Colonial Manor in Wausau.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Knowlton, with the Rev. Joseph Grassl officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Knowlton.

Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the service.

Beste Funeral Home in Mosinee is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wengelski was born Aug. 3, 1920, in the town of Dewey, a daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Lake) Yetka.

She was married to Michael Wengelski on Sept. 26, 1939, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Knowlton. He died Oct. 8, 1962.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include one daughter, Gladys Bartkowiak, Stevens Point; three sons, Richard (Betty) Wengelski, James (Diane) Wengelski and Bill (Judy) Wengelski, all of Knowlton; seven grandchildren, Linda (Ron) Charneski and Kevin (Mary) Bartkowiak, both of Stevens Point, Brian (Deb) Bartkowiak and Tom (Laurie) Wengelski, both of Knowlton, Chris (Diane) Wengelski, Hammond, Jenny (Mike) Erickson, Rothschild, and Jason (Lynn) Wengelski, Mosinee; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Cecelia Rozak and Gertrude Przekurak; two brothers, Frank Yetka Jr. and Andrew Yetka; and one granddaughter, Barb.
