| James J. 'Jim' Schultz James J. "Jim" Schultz, 70, Stevens Point, a former Stevens Point police officer and Portage County Sheriff's Department deputy, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at his home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church of Torun, with the Rev. Wesley Janowski officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and again from 8:45 until 9:30 a.m. Saturday. There will be a parish rosary at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A memorial in his name will be established at a later date in lieu of flowers. Condolences may be offered online at www.pisarskifuneralhome.com. Mr. Schultz was born March 30, 1939, in Stevens Point, a son of the late Charles and Theresa (Kudronowicz) Schultz. He attended local schools. He entered the United States Air Force on May 8, 1956, in Milwaukee. He served as an airman third class and was honorably discharged on Jan. 14, 1960, in Tacoma, Wash. He was married to Marian Kaminski on July 30, 1960, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt. After the marriage they settled in Milwaukee, returning to the Stevens Point area in 1967. He was a police officer while in Milwaukee. Upon his return to Stevens Point, he worked as an officer for the Stevens Point Police Department for a number of years, then joined the Portage County Sheriff's Department where he worked as a detective until his resignation in 1978. He then started independent cross-country trucking. While working for the police force, he also did dairy farming and ran a Christmas tree farm. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Randall (Crystal) and James (Dawn), both of Stevens Point; two daughters, Sandra (David) Feltz, Stevens Point, and Tania (Kelly) LeFevre, Green Bay; three brothers, Eugene (Bernice), Campbellsport, LeRoy (Janet), Plover, and John (Dolores), Rosholt; and 11 grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister. |
