Theresa E. Rohlinger

Theresa E. Rohlinger, 98, Stevens Point, formerly of the Tigerton area, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Wellington Assisted Living Facility in Stevens Point.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Tigerton, with the Rev. John Girotti officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery in Tigerton.

Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the Mass.

The former Theresa Elizabeth Westphal was born May 12, 1911, in Birnamwood, a daughter of the late August and Louise (Zwirschitz) Westphal.

She was married to Lawrence Rohlinger on Jan. 5, 1937, at St. Philomena Church in Birnamwood. He died in 1992.

The couple lived in Tigerton until 1942 when they moved to Milwaukee.

She was an active volunteer at St. Leo Catholic School, working in the student health programs.

After her husband's retirement from A.O. Smith in 1975, the couple moved back to the Tigerton area. Shortly after her husband's death, she moved to Stevens Point to be near her son.

She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Tigerton.

Survivors include one son, Jerry (Diane), Stevens Point; one granddaughter, Amy (Michael) Boris, Stevens Point; two great-grandchildren, Sydney and Porter, Stevens Point; nieces; and nephews.

She was also preceded in death two brothers, August (Lila) and William; and four sisters, Gertrude Westphal, Rose Westphal, Lena (Frank) Sambs, and Rosella (Edward) Rippl.
