Evelyn E. Hanson, 88, Waupaca, a town of Belmont native and the sister of two Amherst residents, died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Bethany Home in Waupaca.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Community in Waupaca, with the Rev. Brian Belongia officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery in Waupaca.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the Mass.
A memorial has been established in lieu of flowers.

Mrs. Hanson was born Sept. 24, 1920, in the town of Belmont, a daughter of the late Dominique and Clementina (Zajechowski) Churas.
She was married to Verland Hanson on Oct. 5, 1940, in Waupaca. He died Dec. 27, 1998.
Survivors include one son, David (Geraldine), Waupaca; three sisters, Rose Smith, Waupaca, Julia Churas, Amherst, and Sister Virginia Churas, Green Bay; one brother, Antone Churas, Amherst; two grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; three great-grandchildren; three great-stepgrandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Fisher; and two brothers, Lewis and Carl Churas.
