| Loretta M. Britz Loretta M. Britz, 93, formerly of 6162 County Highway HH, Stevens Point, in the town of Stockton, died Friday, June 5, 2009, at the Stevens Point Care Center in Whiting. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 12, at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Custer, with the Rev. George Thayilkuzhithottu officiating. Burial will be at the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the services. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel, led by St. Mary's Altar Society. Condolences may be offered online at shudafuneral.com. Mrs. Britz was born Aug. 19, 1915, in the town of Stockton, a daughter of the late Martin and Rose (Gosh) Kruzitski. She attended local schools in the town of Stockton. She was married to Adolph Britz on Jan. 23, 1933, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Stevens Point. The couple later divorced. Together they owned and operated a farm in Stockton. She was known as a good cook and baker and worked at various places, such as the deli department at Red Owl and the Captains Table Restaurant in Plover. She served on the St. Mary Parish Council and was a past president of the Altar Society, which she continued to belong to. She was also a Eucharistic minister. Survivors include one son, John M. (Ann), Stevens Point; five sisters, Bernice (Casimer) Lasecki, Edwina Rzentkowski, Gertrude Ksionsk, and Jean (Richard) Daniels, all of Stevens Point, and Rose (John) Boursier, Garden Grove, Calif.; six grandchildren, Brian (Karen) Britz and Brad (Bette) Britz, both of Stevens Point, John P. 'Jack' (Lori) Britz and Julie (Kenny) Wierzba, both of Rosholt, Mary (Anthony) Mocadlo, Amherst, and Amy Britz, Plover; and nine great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Jerome Kruzitski; two infant brothers; and two infant sisters. |
