Donald Morgan

Donald Morgan, 90, Harmony Commons, Stevens Point, formerly of Nekoosa, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Nekoosa.

Visitation will be at the church from noon Monday until the service.

Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa is assisting the family.

Mr. Morgan was born March 11, 1918, in Rudolph, a son of the late George and Mary (Hierl) Morgan.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1941 to 1944 as a tank driver and a tank commander. He was wounded in 1944 in Belgium. Among the medals he received were the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Silver Star.

He was married to Hazel Miller on March 15, 1947, in Rockford, Ill.

He was employed as a construction worker in the Wisconsin Rapids area for 43 years.

Survivors include his wife, Stevens Point; one daughter, Jolein (John) Sommerfeldt, Amherst; and one granddaughter.
