| Norbert C. Karpinski Norbert C. Karpinski, 78, formerly of Stevens Point, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Peter Catholic Church, with the Rev. George Thayilkuzhottu officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be in the Faustina Room of the church from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the Mass. The Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be offered at www.pisarskifuneralhome.com. Mr. Karpinski was born Feb. 13, 1930, in the town of Alban, a son of the late Mary (Karpinski) Wera. He attended schools in the Rosholt area. He entered the United States Army on Sept. 11, 1951. He served as a lance corporal during the Korean War. He received the Korean Service Medal with Bronze Star, the United Nations Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged on June 12, 1953, at Camp Carson, Colo. Upon his discharge from the military, he settled in Milwaukee. He worked for American Motors for a number of years, and then worked for Evinrude Motors of Milwaukee until his retirement in 1990. He returned to the Stevens Point area after his retirement. Survivors include two sisters, Rita Marx, Stevens Point, and Theresa (Harry) Penrose, Rothschild; two brothers, John P. Wera, Stevens Point, and Sylvester (Theresa) Wera, Cable; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Joseph. |
