Donald R. Musante

Donald R. Musante, 57, 2330 Woodbridge Court, Plover, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at his home while under the care of his family and hospice.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Woodlands Church in Plover, with the Rev. Brian Berg officiating.

Visitation will be at the church from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and again from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the service.

Memorials may be made to: Woodlands Church Mission Fund, St. Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care, State University of New York at Binghampton and Holyoke Community College.

Mr. Musante was born May 3, 1950, in Springfield, Mass., a son of the late Victor and Marie (Bengle) Musante. He grew up in Springfield, Mass., attended the local schools and graduated from West Springfield High School in 1968.

He attended Holyoke Community College and graduated with an associate degree in arts and science. He later attended State University of New York at Binghamton, N.Y., and graduated in 1972 with a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics magna cum laude.

He was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1972. He served as a mathematical statistician and was stationed in South Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1978.

He was married to Deborah Wong on Sept. 11, 1976, in New York, N.Y.
He worked as an actuary for Royal Insurance from 1976 to 1992 in New York, N.Y., and in Charlotte, N.C. He then became employed with Sentry Insurance in Stevens Point in 1992.

He was an associate in the Casualty Actuarial Society.

He was an active member of Woodlands Church, where he belonged to the Senior Fellowship and Bible Study groups. He was a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Survivors include his wife, Plover; one son, Kenneth, New York; one daughter, Kimberly (Jamie) Barnes, Tennessee; three brothers, Vic (Dorothy), Connecticut, and Neil (Cindy) and Eric, both of Massachusetts; and one sister, Ginny, Washington.
