Anthony P. Kurszewski

Anthony P. Kurszewski, 76, Rosholt (township of Harrison, Waupaca County), died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galloway, with the Rev. Rex Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, with military honors conducted by the Elderon Memorial Post 8068 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).

Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Friday until the Mass.

Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home in Wittenberg assisted the family with arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at

Mr. Kurszewski was born Jan. 17, 1932, in the town of Germania in Shawano County, a son of the late Felix and Frances (Plaski) Kurszewski Sr.

He was married to Lorraine Stanislawski on June 29, 1957, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He worked for General Motors in Oak Creek for 36 years.

He was a member of the Elderon Memorial Post 8068 of the VFW.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Tamara (Dean) Laing, Oconomowoc, and Michelle (Hugh) McCue, Evans, Ga.; two sons, Todd (Kim), Wind Lake, and Chad (Shirmela), Bristol; three sisters, Mary (Donald) Lehman, Tigerton, Delores (Glen) Wiza, Rosholt, and Betty (Pepe) Gonzalez, Guadalajara, Mexico; three brothers, Charles (Arlene), Stanley (Delores) and Felix Jr., all of Wittenberg; and seven grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Alex; and two sisters, Shirley Rettkowski and Agnes Kurszewski.
