| Michael M. Damask Michael M. Damask, 42, Hatley, a Stevens Point native and son of a Polonia couple, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, as the result of an industrial accident. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Florian Catholic Church in Hatley, with the Rev. Jerzy Rebacz officiating. A private burial service will be held at a later date. Visitation will be at the Brainard Funeral Home Everest Chapel in Weston from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and at the church from 12:30 p.m. Thursday until the Mass. A rosary will be prayed at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be given to the Newman Catholic Schools Damask Education Fund at any Peoples State Bank location. Condolences may be offered online at www.brainardfuneral.com. Mr. Damask was born Jan. 4, 1966, in Stevens Point, a son of Maurice and Sandra (Marohl-Buss) Damask. He was married to Paula Palmer on Oct. 23, 1993, at St. Florian Catholic Church in Hatley. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1985 to 1989. He was a graduate of the South Carolina Police Academy in Columbia, S.C., and was a member of the Florence Police Department in Florence, S.C., in 1989 and 1990. He was employed at Greenheck Fan as an industrial maintenance apprentice and enrolled in the journeyman maintenance program at Northcentral Technical College. He also owned and operated Damask Logging and Firewood and worked for Majestic Farms Greenhouse and Landscaping. He was active in Cub Scouts and had served as den leader and Cubmaster of Pack 434 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Rothschild and assisted with Troop 448 at Mount Calvary in Rothschild. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jake, Justin and Jeremy, all at home; his parents, Maurice and Sandra Damask, Polonia; and two sisters, Michele (Gary) Konitzer, Kaukauna, and Melanie (Brian) Damask-Toboyek, Knowlton. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gust and Martha Buss and Leo and Helen Damask. |
