| Vicki E. Marksteiner Vicki E. Marksteiner, 54, Stevens Point, died Friday, March 9, 2007, at Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau following a three-year battle with cancer. A celebration of life will be held from 3:30 until 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point, with a prayer service at 5 p.m. Following the prayer service, friends and family will continue to share memories at the Moose Club in Stevens Point from 5:30 to 8 p.m. A memorial will be established in her name for the Aspirus Hospice House in lieu of flowers. Condolences may be offered online at shudafuneral.com. Mrs. Marksteiner was born Dec. 7, 1952, in Kenosha, a daughter of Helen (Petersen) Kelps and the late Victor Kelps. She graduated from Kenosha Tremper High School, then attended the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and UW-Madison, receiving a bachelor's degree in business administration from UW-Madison in 1975. Shortly after graduation she was employed as a human resource manager at UW-Stevens Point (UW-SP), where she has worked for nearly 31 years. She received a master's degree in business administration from UW-Oshkosh while employed at UW-SP. She was married to Bill Kubisiak. They later divorced. She was married to Mike Marksteiner on Feb. 18, 2000. She had been a member of the Board of Directors for Community Industries for several years. Survivors include her husband, Mike, Stevens Point; one stepson, Adam Marksteiner, Duluth, Minn.; one stepdaughter, Jean Marksteiner, New Hope, Minn.; her mother, Helen Kelps, Kenosha; and one brother, Bob (Sandie Hoehn) Kelps, Sheboygan. |
