Vincent J. Kempen
Vincent J. Kempen, 88, Wisconsin Rapids, who was married in Stevens Point, died Thursday, July 22, 2004, at Family
Heritage Medical & Rehabilitation Center in Wisconsin Rapids.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids, with the Rev. John Swing
officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Rudolph.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids and from 10 a.m. Monday
at the church until the services. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be designated to St. Lawrence Catholic Church in lieu of flowers.
Mr. Kempen was born June 9, 1916, in Blenker, a son of the late Cornelius and Marie (DeBruin) Kempen.
He was married to Lucille Maziarka on Nov. 18, 1940, in Stevens Point.
He was employed at Nekoosa Edwards Paper Co. at the Port Edwards Division for 33 years, retiring on June 1, 1978.
At one time, he was president of Papermakers Local No. 59.
He was a member of the Rudolph Senior Citizens.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Donald (Kathi) and Richard (Bonnie) both of Wisconsin Rapids, and James
(Joy), Port Edwards; one daughter, Betty (Jerome) Duda, Wisconsin Rapids; two brothers, Clifford (Marge), Chicago,
Ill., and Leo (Arline), Appleton; four sisters, Rachel Anderson, Sylvia (Archie) Marcoux and Florence Nash, all
of Wisconsin Rapids, and Jalleta Darr, Antigo; 14 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one infant son, David Thomas; one daughter, Rose Marie; three brothers; and an
infant great-grandson. |
