Marvin W. Pies
Marvin W. Pies, 47, Sturgeon Bay, an attorney and brother of a Stevens Point man, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, from
injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Waupaca County.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shiloh Moravian Church in Sturgeon Bay, with the Rev. Kenneth Boettcher
officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay.
Memorials may be given to Shiloh Moravian Church and United Methodist Church in his memory.
Mr. Pies was born on Dec. 29, 1954, in Madison, a son of Judge S. Dean and Betty J. (Trodahl) Pies. He graduated
from Algoma High School and was an Eagle Scout.
He received a bachelor of science degree from Arizona State University in 1978 and a law degree in 1983 from Gonzaga
University School of Law.
After graduation he worked at Johnson Law Offices in Sturgeon Bay until starting Pies Law Office on the west side
of Sturgeon Bay. He was a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, Door County Bar Association and the Door-Kewaunee
Bar Association and a past president. He was also secretary of the Algoma Boat Club and president and trustee of
Shiloh Moravian Church Cemetery Association. He was past treasurer of the 8th District Republican Party and member
of Sturgeon Bay United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his parents, Algoma; one sister, Kaare A. Auditore, Phoenix, Ariz.; and one brother, Torren K.
(Ellen) Pies, Stevens Point. |
