Wierzba promoted to sergeant on Plover Police Department

Cpl. Dwayne D. Wierzba of the Plover Police Department has been promoted to sergeant.

Wierzba, a Plover officer since June 1985, will be responsible for supervision of patrol officers assigned to the midday and night shift.
He was promoted to corporal on Oct. 2, 1995, and his current duties include night shift supervisor, FTO coordinator, firearms coordinator, scheduling coordinator, grants coordinator and bicycle patrol coordinator.

He is an instructor certified for cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, firearms and standardized field sobriety testing.

He received a bachelor's degree in law enforcement administration at the University of Wisconsin-Superior.

He served as a law enforcement specialist in the U.S. Air Force for four years and as a patrolman for the Saukville Police Department from August 1983 to June 1985.

He is a lieutenant in the Naval Reserves, specializing in physical security and law enforcement. He drills out of the Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Center in Green Bay.

He and his wife, Kathleen, have two sons, Justin, 14, and Nathan, 12.
