The Veterans Grand National Watercross Race will be held at Lake Pacawa in Plover on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 28 and 29.
The event features snowmobiles racing on water and is sanctioned by the International Watercross Association. It is sponsored by the Trailmates Snowmobile Club of Wausau and co-sponsored by the Plover-Whiting Lions Club, which is in charge of food and refreshments.
The events will include qualifying and heats for straight-line drag racing and racing on an oval course marked by buoys in the lake.
Gates open at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with racing beginning at 10 a.m. each day and going until about 5 or 6 p.m.
