the Blair Witch (Project) movie and were out exploring the woods looking for strange things," according to
a deputy's report.

Stevens Point
A Stevens Point Police Department officer suffered a shoulder injury at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday after attempting
to take a suspected drunk into custody, a report said.
Officers stopped an apparently intoxicated driver in the 800 block of Highway 10
West and when they approached the vehicle, they found the man was uncooperative and had a gun on the floor of the
vehicle, the report said. He refused to exit the vehicle and reached towards the gun, but stopped when officers
ordered him to stop.
He then attempted to start his car and drive away, the officer nearest the car
reached through the partially open window and tried to turn off the ignition, the report said. The driver quickly
rolled up the window on the officer's arm and accelerated, dragging the officer for several feet until he could
pull himself free.
The car fled west on Highway 10 to Highway M, where it spun in a circle and continued
south on M. Speeds on Highway M reached 90 mph and police terminated the pursuit because of the speed and ground
fog. At about 10:45 p.m., the Portage County Sheriff's Department Special Response Team took the suspect into custody
at his home on Highway M. The car was found hidden in an outbuilding and authorities recovered the handgun.
A Sheriff's Department dispatcher/negotiator had called the residence and talked
the 19-year-old man into coming outside and surrendering to deputies in his driveway, a Portage County Sheriff's
Department report said.
Authorities requested resisting an officer, carrying a concealed weapon, battery
to a peace officer, recklessly endangering safety and fleeing an officer charges be filed against the man.
The officer dragged by the vehicle was treated for a shoulder injury at St. Michael's
Hospital, police said.
