Is State Sen. Kevin Shibilski, D-Stevens Point, considering a run for lieutenant governor of Wisconsin?
Shibilski isn't publicly acknowledging that possibility, but Milwaukee Journal Sentinel columnists Spivak & Bice have frequently mentioned Shibilski as a likely candidate for lieutenant governor.
Now Shibilski has begun sending invitations to county residents to attend a reception for what he calls a "special announcement" at 6:30 p.m Wednesday, June 13, at the Sky Club in Plover, with free food and drinks beginning at 5:30 p.m.
In a letter, Shibilski says, "As you well know, Wisconsin is at a crossroads and is seeking new leadership. Upcoming elections will be tough, hard-fought races that will shape the future of Wisconsin in so many ways."
Later in the letter he says, "...I need your help today to prepare for the challenges that lie ahead."
