Fly-In will be held at Stevens Point Airport Sunday
The Annual Stevens Point Fly-In will be held Sunday, June 3, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Stevens Point Municipal
Airport. Admission is free.
The Fly-In originally started more than five years ago as a small event for flying enthusiasts and has grown into
a day of activities for the entire family. Each year, more and more aircraft participate, offering tours and rides.
This year, aircraft scheduled to appear include an Experimental Aircraft Association 1929 Ford Tri-Motor which
will give rides and displays will feature military aircraft, WWII fighter planes, "Spirit of Marshfield,"
corporate jets and hot air balloons.
Activities scheduled include sky divers, aerobatics air show starting at noon, Pegasus air rides, pancake breakfast
starting at 7 a.m., brats and hamburgers starting at 11 a.m., ice cream, cotton candy and popcorn starting at 10
a.m., kids' games and activities and old cars on display.
Attendance at the Stevens Point Fly-In has reached more than 3,000 in the past, and event coordinators are expecting
an even bigger turn out.
"Over the past three years, the Fly-In has grown into a fun, family event," said Noel Group chief pilot
and event coordinator Rich Smaglik. "This year we have even more kids activities scheduled and we expect a
record-number of aircraft on display (weather permitting).
"We expect the highlight of this year's event to be the aerobatics show starting at noon. We have two of the
best acrobatic pilots in Wisconsin ready to put on a spectacular show."
The Stevens Point Fly-In is put on by the Stevens Point Pilots Association and is sponsored by the Stevens Point
Parks and Recreation Department.
