Wendy Lynch, a "thought leader," will kick off the week on Tuesday, July 17, with a program entitled
"Work Affects Health, Health Affects Work."

of Colorado, Lynch is a faculty member for the Health & Behavioral Sciences Program at the University of Colorado
at Denver and an assistant professor for the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Colorado Health
Sciences Center. She is widely published in professional journals and is a frequent speaker on a variety of health
care issues.
In "Work Affects Health, Health Affects Work," she talks about Americans spending more waking hours at
work than any other nation of people. Life at work - the hours, the workload, the commute, the stress, the people,
the culture - affects everyone emotionally, mentally and physically, both positively and negatively, producing
measurable physical and mental health consequences.
The session explores how work affects health and health affects work, and addresses what employees and employers
can do about it.
On Wednesday, July 18, chef Tom Ney, "The Healthy Chef" and director of the "Prevention Magazine"
Food Center, will present an interactive cooking demonstration.
Ney has appeared on various television shows and networks including "Good Morning America," the Discovery
Channel, Food Network and has been featured in the New York Times and Washington Post.
He is also the director of Rodale Food Center - the publisher for such health magazines as "Prevention,"
"Men's Health," "Rodale's Organic Gardening," "Backpacker," "Runner's World"
and "Bicycling." In this role he serves as corporate chef and an adviser.
Closing out the week on Thursday, July 19, is the Deborah Kern with her program entitled, "Brave Grace"
- which offers participants tips on being well-grounded, relaxed, aware, compassionate and energized in everyday
life.
Kern's passion is the mind/body/spirit connection. She combines her background in nursing, more than 20 years as
a fitness instructor, doctoral studies in health science and her personal experience to create holistic wellness
programs. |
