Delta Dental begins $4 million expansion project
Delta Dental Plan of Wisconsin has begun work on a $4 million expansion
of its headquarters at 2801 Hoover Road in Stevens Point.
The 22,500 square-foot addition is driven by the company's steady growth over the past several years and plans
for further growth, said Dennis L. Brown, president and CEO.
Delta built its current headquarters in 1995-96 and at that time had approximately 65 employees. Today it employs
nearly twice that number at its Stevens Point office, along with a sales office in Milwaukee and sales executives
in the Madison, Green Bay and La Crosse areas.
The company expects continued growth in the years ahead, Brown said.
The new section of the building will be connected to the north end of the existing building. It will include an
additional 14,000 square feet of general office space, a lunchroom with a preparation and serving area, a conference
room and a training room. A one-half-mile walking path will surround the entire site.
The office space will initially be designed to house 96 moveable workstations. To accommodate growth over time,
the area could be redesigned to hold a maximum of approximately 150 units.
Completion of the project is scheduled for early spring 2002. Ellis Stone Construction of Stevens Point is the
project manager.
