Partners in Education named four Portage County teachers 1999-00 Golden Apple Award recipients. The award recognizes excellence in teaching.
The four award winners were Steve Harris, Stevens Point Area High School, Laurie Schroeder, Pacelli High School, Kathy Hermann, St. Peter Middle School, and Armin Nebel, Plover/Whiting Elementary.
There were more than 200 teachers nominated for the Golden Apple Awards, with 44 of them dedicating a great deal of time to complete the Golden Apple Awards applications. Of those 44, 10 finalists were chosen. The finalists then completed a taped session and were interviewed by the Golden Apple Awards Judging Panel, who chose the winners.
