Police Reports Gun shot victim: Deputies are investigating a shooting Wednesday afternoon at a town of Lanark residence. At 2:26 p.m., a 32-year-old man telephoned the Portage County Sheriff's Department to tell dispatchers he had been shot and to ask for help, authorities said. Deputies and Emergency Medical Services workers responded to the scene. The victim was taken by ambulance to an Appleton-area hospital. Investigators were at the scene until late Wednesday evening. Pending notification of the victim's next of kin, authorities have not released his name.
