Area music teachers will hold meeting in Stevens Point

The Stevens Point Area Chapter of the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association will conduct its first meeting of the 1999-2000 year on Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Mitchell Piano Works, 809 Wisconsin St.

Featured guest speaker will be Mary Ellen Mitchell, presenting and performing newly published literature. Other agenda items include the nomination of WMTA Local Association Member of the Year, WMTA Convention and changes in audition procedure. The complete 1999-2000 program calendar will be distributed.

Those members who did not receive their Fall Classical Music Festival application in the mail should try to attend this meeting and get a copy. This program is free and open to the public.

The Stevens Point Area Music Teachers Association (SPAMTA) is an affiliate of the Music Teachers National Association. SPAMTA serves students in the Waupaca, Wisconsin Rapids and Stevens Point areas. Founded in 1876, MTNA, the oldest professional music association in the country, represents more than 24,000 independent and collegiate professionals.
