Gail A. Heywood is the 1999 recipient of the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association Member of the Year Award.
The awards were presented at the WMTA State Convention held recently in Oshkosh. The recipient is recognized at the banquet for the outstanding contributions to their local/state association. Heywood has been president of the Stevens Point area chapter since 1997, also serving as WMTA Badger Keyboard Site Chairwoman in 1998, WMTA membership secretary and WMTA webmaster.
She authorized two grants for the Stevens Point Area Chapter's Martha Mier program. Heywood was also a three-time recipient of the WMTA Award of Excellence. Heywood teaches in Stevens Point at Mitchell Piano Works and in Rudolph.
