There are many good reasons why an older adult may not have finished high school,
and as many good reasons to earn an equivalency certificate now. Mid-State Technical College's General Educational
Development (GED) program is held Friday mornings at Lincoln Center. There are five areas of study: math, science,
social studies, literature and writing skills. People study at their own pace with individualized help from an
MSTC instructor and practice taking tests in each area to see how they're progressing. They decide when they're
ready to take the GED test for each area. When they pass all five tests they graduate from the program and receive
a GED certificate.
