Dixie Cadillacs perform at UW-SP
Country recording artists the Dixie Cadillacs will roll into the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point's
University Center for an 8 p.m. show tonight (Friday) in the Laird Room.
The Dixie Cadillacs play country with a rock and roll attitude, according to promotional material.
The band first appeared on the Nashville Network in 1989. It has released three recordings, "Here at Last,"
in 1987, "Drifter," in 1989 and "Dixie Cadillacs" in 1996. The latter recording included the
single, "My Future Ex-Wife," which received significant airplay and videoplay.
Other Dixie Cadillac highlights:
--Nominated for Country Artist of the Year in 1998 by the National Association for Campus Activities.
--Successful European tour in 1998.
--Performed with national artists that include Asleep at the Wheel, Alabama, Vince Gill, Mary Chapin Carpenter,
The Judds, Roy Orbison and Dwight Yokum.
