CWSO season opens next week

The Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra announces their 51st season, "The Heart of the Repertoire," which includes a series of four subscription concerts and a classical special event.

The 1999-2000 season kicks off with an entertaining piano pops concert, featuring well-known pianist and recording artist, Rich Ridenour and the Central Wisconsin Symphony orchestra in concert Sept. 25 and 26 at the Sentry Theater beginning at 7:30 p.m. both evenings.

Beginning with Rossini's famous "Overture to the Barber of Seville," guest artist Rich Ridenour is welcomed to Sentry's stage by musical director Eric Townell to play Adinsell's famous "Warsaw Concerto." Sponsored by The Holiday Inn - Stevens Point, enjoy Ridenour's "Victor Borge-style" artistry from "rags to classical," including Joplin and the beautiful Second Rhapsody by Gershwin.

Tickets are sold at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Arts and Athletics Ticket Office, 346-4100 or 1-800-838-3378, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, at the CenterPoint MarketPlace - downtown Stevens Point, at Heid Music - Wisconsin Rapids, and at the door. Seating is reserved.
