Inside the Portage County line By GENE KEMMETER of The Gazette The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point opened its campus to the public Sunday, April 2, and the public came in droves. The activities, which included the 28th annual Festival of the Arts, ran from noon to 4 p.m. and left the campus crowded in many places. One comment often overheard was "I didn't think there were this many things to do." As her child ran off for another adventure on campus, one parent said "We'll have to come earlier next year." While the Festival of the Arts will be there, the open house probably won't be. The university has been scheduling the event for every other year when attendance dipped several years ago.
