Like escaping north to Lake Superior in just more than three hours – where one can leave home at sunrise, eat breakfast in Ashland at the Lakeshore Café, visit the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center just west of town and then stock up at friend Jerry’s Sixth Street Market – where for more than 25 years, his family has offered a variety of fresh meat, smoked sausages, fresh sausages and Wisconsin cheeses.
