Kathy L. Szulczewski, 57, Merrill, mother of a Stevens Point woman, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at Ministry St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield.
A memorial service was held Monday, Aug. 11, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Merrill, with Pastor Dennis Creswell officiated.
Visitation was at the church Monday.

Mrs. Szulczewski was born March 6, 1957, in Neenah, a daughter of the late Edward and Joyce (Helms) Streicher.
She was married to Daniel Szulczewski June 23, 2001, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Merrill.
She volunteered in the Peace Corps from 1983 to 1984 and served in Tunisia, Africa.
She was an active member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church and was involved with the youth group, Bible study classes, confirmation classes, choir, Vacation Bible School and the children’s programs.
She was also a Girl Scouts troop leader.
Survivors include her husband, Merrill; two daughters, Laurel (Adam) Berry, Wisconsin Rapids, and Robin Krueger, Stevens Point; one stepdaughter, Danielle (Michael) Houtz, Cary, N.C.; two sisters, Tammie (James) Szymanski, Rhinelander, and Lori (Brian Jens) Bourke, Appleton; and one brother, Donald (Marilyn) Streicher, Freedom.
